Tangerine Tango

Pantone has announced the color of 2012, Tangerine Tango.

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Inspiring home and fashion, here are my top picks found in this wonderful hue.

5,000

I know for most bloggers this number is a joke - to me, its a huge milestone.
Thank you everyone for supporting me, I have so much more to share and create. This was a great way to start out 2012, now if only I had more time to sort through all my ideas!

Headboard Breakdown

Here is a breakdown of my headboard wall.

All framed photos were printed directly from the internet. I typed in vintage beach photos, selected my favorites and printed them 4" x 6" on regular white paper. I then trimmed them flush and pasted them to a 50 cent white poster board cut to size.
Having a small photo on a large matte gives a clean modern look.

Bedroom Evolution

Evolution of my bedroom design.

My bedroom about 3 years ago, back when I couldn't afford anything!

Slowly evolving into the look I wanted.
The current state. Actually already thinking of ways to redecorate for spring...I know, I'm just never satisfied!

Resolutions

Welcome to 2012!
I was inspired by Pinterest when stumbling upon this graphic poster about New Year's resolutions. Most of them are pretty standard but it was nice to see them designed so beautifully. Although, they don't all apply to me (I haven't had bangs in 15 years, I'd probably be anorexic if I lost 30 pounds and I do have a job), but I can definitely relate to several.

I believe everyone should write down their goals, so they can stare you back in the face and then you'll feel guiltier if you don't accomplish them. So make your list, stick it up on the fridge or mirror and have a fabulous year!

Christmas Cheer: A Holiday Gathering

A few photos from a Christmas party I hosted, enjoy! Merry Christmas!

Eat, drink & be Merry! Red Velvet Cake pops

Leftover handmade tissue poms from my sisters shower - just had to use them.

I designed a chevron food tag. That silver polka dot design you see is actually scrapbook paper - get creative! Silver chafing dish found at Goodwill, then throughly cleaned :)

Mini bar area. Silver tray found at Goodwill, also lined with the scrapbook paper.

I used leftover straws from my sisters shower and created a "HO, HO, HO" flag.

I designed a quick print out and placed it in a frame to add some whimsy to the bar area.
Cheers!

Christmas Cards

A few years ago my family started a tradition of "funny" christmas cards....aka throw a gun in the picture, ha. Here are a few examples along with some cards I created for friends. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Decor

Adding Christmas cheer to my entry console.

I wanted it to be subtle and continue my eclectic theme.
This is what is looked like before.

Free online printable in red, glitter deer purchased at the dollar store (my roommates craft), and candlesticks moved from my bedroom (purchased at hobby lobby)

I crafted tree cones from poster board and then covered in fabric, lace and burlap and placed on candle sticks. Decorative gold ric rac was added to my existing fabric runner.
 * for the sequin garland, I simply strung sequins on thread with a knot at each one.

The fabric trees are very simple to create. Follow Below
My one recommendation: use spray adhesive! I used my hot glue gun and it was not as effective.

Happy Holidays!

Fabric Bunting

fabric swatches that will be cut into triangles and sewn together

sewn together and attached to ribbon of choice

finished product on display
I created this banner for my sisters bridal shower. Although it was the windiest day of the year it still looked adorable! A fairly simple sewing project that took a few hours.

Add letters to each flag if desired. I left mine blank so I could use over again and again.

yellow + grey

My client's only condition is that the pillows go with her new dark grey sofa. I wanted to try the latest color combination trend of yellow and grey.
